What a very thought provoking picture! I remember at time when ........ well perhaps not quite like. Hemp rope is the only stuff to use, you know. Forget silks and manmade fibres, they heat too quickly to be any good. Hemp is the stuff! It smells good and feels rough enough yet is as soft as it needs to be. Just don't draw it across the skin too quickly otherwise it will cut. I find the three quarter inch the most appealing and the half inch for making the best knots. Reasonably horrible weekend..... see above.. XX Vicky XX
